Obviously didnt do this when the game was a bazillion dollars,I think I was in 10th grade at the time and about to be 30 now.

^Wouldnt worry unless...you found a copy Suikoden II on the streets of NYC in like 1998 then yea it was probably mine 
As far as Karma,lucky through all my hardships the strength and experience has been in my favor

Honestly, I don't think disc rot is that common. I examined all of my disc-based games earlier this year and none of them have any signs of rot.
As someone said earlier, PS1-era discs that will rot most likely already have. I have a couple music CDs with rot signs, they are only about 5-8 years old. Both CDs are DIY releases so I assume some kind of cheap/substandard pressing was used, unfortunately.

Well I have music CDs I've owned for about 15+ years now. I checked them all with a LED they're fine. Played one all the way through and it didn't miss a beat. Guess I am going to bite the bullet and get some PSX games. Up first, Silent Hill and Parasite Eve 2! 
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.
