Random Thoughts Thread
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Just got back on the Joe myself last month, after switching to tea last year. No regrets, just needed some time away from coffee so I could cut back to a reasonable 2-3 cups per day.
7:30am-3:30pm is a golden schedule. My day was far more productive when I had a similar one. Getting up at 4 or 5 was easy and gave me time for other endeavors, then I still had the late afternoon and early evening free.

@Xeogred
We have the same schedule (though I'm technically 8-3:30 I usually show up at 7:30).
I get to leave work in 1.5 minutes!

i used to have that schedule, but i was struggling to get up all the time and coming into work late.. so eventually just budge my shift to 2nd. Anywho i prefer 2nd because i can stay up late and game and wake up not feeling dead tired in the am.

I don't think I could ever become a smoker. Just one cigarette makes my tongue feel like it's been lightly burned all over, plus, after being around tobacco smoke for more than about 15-20 minutes I start getting asthmatic. Factor in the high price of cigarettes ($3.99 a pack?!) and I'm set to not start smoking.

Why is this post written like you were thinking of taking it up as a hobby and tried one out to see how it went?BoringSupreez wrote:I don't think I could ever become a smoker. $3.99 a pack? Do you live in 1995 or something?BoringSupreez wrote:I don't think I could ever become a smoker. No, but Missouri has like the 2nd lowest tobacco excise tax in the country, from what I've heard. Also, we are in the top 3 for laxest liqueur and firework laws, and we currently have the cheapest average gasoline prices in the nation. Jealous yet?[/quote]BoringSupreez wrote: $3.99 a pack? Are there a lot of smokers in the state? In Mass, I think a pack is around $7-8. In NYC, it's even higher.
There was an article about some shops in NYC would sell loose tobacco and let customers use the shop's rolling machine to roll the cigarettes in order to get around the tax issue.

No car, don't smoke, don't care about fireworks (in fact, I prefer peace and quiet), but I do drink. Still I'd rather be here than there.BoringSupreez wrote:No, but Missouri has like the 2nd lowest tobacco excise tax in the country, from what I've heard.
