I picked up the Zelda edition at Best Buy for $180. Anybody have any idea how to open the box for this thing without completely wrecking it?

I think I might finally get a 3DS.

I picked up Chronicles Samurai Warriors last night on clearance at Target for 15 bucks. Pretty good but there is just way to much text for an action handheld game. Also the fact that it keeps pausing the fighting to give you a new mini mission gets kind of annoying. I just want to button mash peoples faces into the ground. Once Dream Trigger drops in price on clearance I might pick it up to.

Wow. picked up a 3DS and didn't realize the library was so small....

Im a sucker for the 3d effects though. I don't care what people say. It's why I have a complete US Virtual Boy collection.

I'm loving my 3DS! Sure, there are only a handful of blockbuster titles out right now that aren't re-releases of older-gen titles, but so what? The little machine has only been out for little under a year now and taking into account said N64 re-releases, awesome DSi and 3DS-exclusive downloadables, and a good handful of average to very good releases - it's a great system that's getting too much flack for being in it's first year..
There should be an unspoken rule to not judge a system by it's first 18 months of availability. I feel like the industry judges systems based on previous models like the Playstations 1&2 and the Super Nintendo. These systems had a remarkable lineup of software the first year - year and a half - which has rarely been seen since! Look at the Genesis, the original Gameboy, the Nintendo, the N64, and even the Playstation 3 and XBox 360! They had only a handful of awesome releases in their first year, some of which were absolutly terrible by industry critics standards, (PS3 launch, anybody?) But look at those systems now? They're either video game system legends in their own right, or on their way to becoming one..

I really wish people would stop dumping on hardware early on because it can't put up the rare numbers the SNES and Playstation did in their launches. It was a rarity, not the trade standard... Be patient, people!!

Mario Kart 7 looks like a fun game. It went back to 8 racers instead of 12 on the Wii (I think it was 12?).

I've had my 3DS for a week now and I am very impressed. I love the aesthetics of the system and think it is better designed than any of the other DS models. I've been very pleased on how well the gyroscope aiming works in OoT, I thought that would be a feature I would find annoying and turn off but I use it as my primary means of aiming. I haven't had any big issues with the battery but I have yet to take it out of the house for an extended period of time. I've never owned a system so shortly after launch but I'm happy that I've taken the plunge this time (it being on sale at Target for $145 made that decision easier). I'm much more impressed with the 3DS than I was with the DS in the same time frame.

3DS is awesome, simple as that. I've loved mine since launch day. I also don't care if there isn't a constant stream of games since I only have a bajillion other consoles and games to play. In fact, I actually like the start and end of a console's lifespan since I can actually KEEP up with the releases.

This may have already been covered in this thread, but...

Does anyone here have the 2nd thumbstick attachment? From the screenshots I've seen, it looks rather tumorous when attached to the sleek new handheld. I'm tempted to ask for a 3DS for XMAS, but know I'll be slapping myself silly when the newer model comes out with the 2nd stick built in.

I think I'll try and get myself a CIB Virtual Boy instead.

Any thoughts?
