I *almost* picked up that biography. I think Return of the Mac is better than HNIC. And DEFINITELY better than HNIC2. Anyway, I agree with you on Hell on Earth. It comes REALLY close.OldSchool_Boy wrote:The Infamous is hard to top but Hell on Earth is a super close second. I know about Return of the Mac with all production being done by Alchemist but I haven't got a copy yet but I recently been thinking about getting it along with H.N.I.C. I also gave Prodigy's autobiography a read over the summer and it's a mixed bag with the content in there.noiseredux wrote: definitely one of their better albums. Though I suppose it goes without saying that THE INFAMOUS is still hard to top. Have you heard Prodigy's RETURN OF THE MAC from 2007? That's honestly one of my favorite Mobb Deep related records in yearrrrrs.

It gives insight on his personality as to why he is always serious and other interesting stuff but there is some stuff that just seems unimportant. I will definitely be getting a copy of those 2 Prodigy albums.noiseredux wrote: I *almost* picked up that biography. I think Return of the Mac is better than HNIC. And DEFINITELY better than HNIC2. Unrelated to Mobb Deep is this re-release of The Main Ingredient by Pete Rock & CL Smooth that's coming out might be of interest to you if you like the duo. It's a special edition set.

holy crap, that looks amazing. I LOVE The Main Ingredient. I actually think it's way better than Mecca & The Soul Brother. A vastly overlooked record in my opinion. Wow, thanks for the heads up!

Yeah no problem. I haven't heard either of the albums besides a song here and there so I'm going to check them out.noiseredux wrote:holy crap, that looks amazing. I LOVE The Main Ingredient. I must be the only hip hop fan that prefers Hell On Earth to The Infamous. It had a bit more sinister vibe, less skits and great guests like Meth and Raekwon. Infamous had the classics though, and the drums were SO hard on them beats. My favourite Mobb release of the last few years was the Product of the 80s release Prodigy put out with some Streets of Rage sounding beats. That was sick.noiseredux wrote:definitely one of their better albums. Though I suppose it goes without saying that THE INFAMOUS is still hard to top. I've been listening to The Game, even though his new album SUCKS (other than the Premo track) but his first two albums had some real bangers on there. If anyone on here is into hip hop should check out my radio show I do for the University of the West of England, I post shows on here: http://www.mixcloud.com/therealness

My favorite prefers Hell on Earth to The Infamous and he knows his stuff so you got company there. I always prefer Raekwon + Ghostface > Raekwon + Method Man, so when they did a back and forth on "Right Back at You", that helped choose the favorite out of the two. I read about that Product of the 80's and that seems like another to check out when possible. As far as Game, I never saw the reason for the hype and I still don't see what the big deal was. Also, nice Cormega nod.Razzmatazz wrote: I must be the only hip hop fan that prefers Hell On Earth to The Infamous. It had a bit more sinister vibe, less skits and great guests like Meth and Raekwon. I like The Game a lot. Mostly cuz he's kind of a weirdo. He's so obsessed with NWA/Death Row/etc. that it's almost endearing. I don't know. His first three studio albums are incredibly solid, though. I haven't heard Red Album yet, so can't see for sure how that is. Most of his indie albums are hit or miss, but I always feel compelled to check out whatever he puts out. There's just this weird thing where he's almost a walking contradiction. It's just interesting to me.
