Operating system as a hobby

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Operating system as a hobby

Post by RCBH928 »

I wont hide my interest of computer history and i really like to see different software especially older ones, I just get a kick out of it. I found out that there is a project called Haiku that picked up where BeOS left.

Now my question is, is there any one that would use such an OS for real or are people in it just for tinkering and playing around? Amazingly there is also an Amiga OS as far as I understand. I dont know what other operating systems out there exist too. Is there a use for those systems?

I believe that developing an operating system is a very difficult thing yet here we have some that no one cared about...hmmm
