Imo I'm not a fan of wrestling no more. It's no longer fun. No storylines, no good promo's from wrestler's. no character's nothing. I grew up watching wrestling in the hulkamania era, it died down for a year or two then the monday night war started, nwo and attitude era was formed, Then it stayed hot till 2003 or so. That's when I started to loose intrest. I still look at the results and go onyoutube to watch a segment but that's it

Oh my brother testify. This is the truth if I've ever read it. There have been spurts here and there since of interesting stuff like the Main Event Mafia, Evolution, Nexus, and Hogan's return (before we realized how bad it actually was). But for the most part, it's been pretty forgettable in comparison to the 80s-early 2000s.

Had a thought earlier today:

Why hasn't TNA done a TLC match? They have the Hardys, they have the Dudleys, and they have an entire X-Division (and RVD) to fill the Edge & Christian hole. This one seems likea no-brainer. Let's see it already!

I would say the late 80's to mid 90's looks like the best era to me. Too bad I missed a lot of that stuff, and Bret or Shawn's rise to fame. But back then they had the characters, some slight attitude, but wrestling was still very much the focus. This definitely dwindled down a bit during the attitude era when it was more about the theatrics than actually putting on good matches. That said, huge attitude era kid myself.

It definitely is hard to get back into it. From the boring commentating duo of Cole and King, to the cookie cutter clean cut boy with trunks look everywhere, etc...

This is what they should have done in 2001 and I am sure it wpould still be working today.
1. Vince buy's wcw and keeps it going. Thursday night nitro. Have story lines like having wwf/e invading and roster's going back and forth. Vince dropped the ball on that.
2. The classic i.c title is back bring back the true heavyweight belt that mattered, wwe winged eagle. Get rid of that crap cena belt.
3. Even though I hate cena because he has no charisma with his four moves a rip off the people's elbow and the f5 and he has no talent, get another face for wrestling. I know what everybody who is a cena fan going to say "hey hogan only had a few moves" True and false. Look at the matches of hogan in japan. And yeah he only had punches, body slam, elbow, running clothesline, big boot and leg drop, It's how it did it. He brought the fan's to the ring.
4. Make only 4 pay per views per year again. No more every month it's no fun anymore

5. Build up storyline for two character's. Remember when hogan would get into a fued with savage or bundy or andre? Think of it a build up for savage and hogan. Hogan help's savage to win the belt at wm4. Mega powers unite for summerslam, Survivor series hogan hugs elizabeth and tension starts. hogan throws out randy at royal rumble. Feb savage knocks out liz and hogan carries her to the room and leaves his partner behind. Later that night savage is enraged thinking hogan has it for liz and boom savage attacks hogan. Then they don't fight till april WM5. That's how you build a story line. They need that again.
6. Don't defend or have main events on every match for raw or smackdown or tna and dont have titles get defended everyweek. You want that bring the tv title again.
7. Bring back steel cage, battle royal's, ladder and hell tlc or better yet war games 3 cages 2 teams.
8. Bring back jobber's and manager's. Good manager's like hart and sherri and heenen
9. Kill the diva's no one cares
10. Last but not least, a 2 hour show should have 1hr1/2 of wrestling and 1/2 hr of talking. And I mean like mean gene use to talk to people in the back before the match, after the match, and a promo for the match at a house show comming up. Then do a live segment With a couple of people at a platform not the ring unless it's a special. That's is my thought's.
Two more thing,
1. bring back real tag- teams
2. bring back actual wrestling like the way bret hart and shawn michaels used to. When was the last time you saw arm bar or someone working on the shoulder?

I'm almost 100% positive the networks that worked with the WWF wanted nothing to do with a WCW name for their show. That idea of just running WCW in WWF timeslots was explored and was not feasible.

Of course, the WCW programming slots on TBS and TNT weren't a part of the deal (hence why they only went for 5 million).

I get the sad feeling that the people who run WWE and TNA just don't care. The kind of passion that you see from fans they just don't have for the business. It's like they are content with the amount of money they make and have no ambition to do better. Cena is the # 1 example of this. When your top babyface gets booed out of buildings and you still keep pushing him anyway because you're content with having only like fifty percent of your audience behind your top guy, that's sad. That's a company that just doesn't have the ambition, the desire to improve, the yearning to please the fans or the passion to present the best product possible. When I say the company, I should really be saying Vince McMahon. Either he doesn't care anymore, or he just doesn't know what he's doing anymore with senility setting in

John Cena is a symbol to me. A symbol of a company that's just coasting by and mailing it in. If Cena is the best you've got, then you're really not trying. Seeing him alongside the Rock is like seeing a midcarder standing by a legend.

Viacom didn't want the Nitro name and they held considerable influence with the WWF. Those shows in the summer of '01 where they changed the banners to Nitro to feel things out were complete disasters and the crowd shit all over it to boot. Vince always presented his brand as superior (hence the crappy one-sided booking in the Invasion storyline) so no one was buying into watching Vince's WCW anyway.

Fun to fantasy book but that's the only place WWF Nitro was happening.
