So I was trying to clean off my new Wii a bit...

Post by ZenErik »

...And now I'm horrified about how easily this glossy plastic scratches. I used the same microfiber cloths that I use to clean glass (usually works great), and it left little scratches everywhere.

Luckily this only bothers me greatly for a few hours, and then I should just stop caring. :P

Doesn't seem like it. Regardless, how should I fix this? I'm not in any rush, but it seems like some sort of swirl remover and soft foam pad will do the trick.

Anyone have any experience?

Makes me appreciate my matte consoles much more. The Wii is the only glossy one... And it's already a pain.

Buy some Plexus. It works wonders.

Sounds good, but what I read says that it doesn't remove swirls/micro scratches. So perhaps a swirl remover and then some Plexus once the scratches are out?

My bottle says it does (as do my eyes).

Alright. Where can I find it? And have you personally used it on a Wii or something similar? Thanks!

I used it on everything, PSP, iPhone 3GS, Older PS3, and it's always worked well for me. Gets rid of a lot of the small scratches and makes them shine like new.

If there's a small airport near you look and see if they have a small flight shop. Since it's technically made for plexiglass, pilots love it to clean their windsheilds. I haven't been in a flight shop that doesn't have it.

Hmm. Might just have to order from Amazon. What should I use while applying it? Microfiber cloth? Thanks for the help again. I'll let you know how it goes once I get it.

The back of the bottle recommends something lintless. I use the cloth that came with my glasses.
