It's in Miami this year but Axxess, the Hall of Fame inductions and Wrestlemania are all spread out. I'm trying to find a hotel in the best area.
Wrestlemania 2012!
Wrestlemania 2012!
I'm finally going to Wrestlemania this year! Any other Racketboy members going? Or are there any members who have tips who have gone before?

Re: Wrestlemania 2012!
We have a "Wrestling Thread" that has some mention of it.
I'm going - haven't seen anyone else yet. My buddies and I are tentatively staying down in Miami for the Marlins stadium the following Wednesday.

I don't even want to pay the ridiculous price for it on PPV. I doubt I could afford tickets to Wrestlemania. But it would be amazing if I could. Especially this year's with Rock vs. Cena and HHH vs. Undertaker Rematch. (Is that still happening? I haven't heard much about it since it was originally mentioned.)

Dammit, I looked but didn't find any threads for wrestling, except wrestling games. Yeah, it looks like an awesome wrestlemania. My ticket was $150 after taxes and everything. I'm sitting fairly close too. I know you can spend like $40 and sit in the nose bleeds. And I don't even think that's a bad idea. With all the pyro, music and huge screens they have, I think it would be an awesome show no matter where you sit.retrosportsgamer wrote:We have a "Wrestling Thread" that has some mention of it.

BurningDoom, I fell ya. I know we shouldn't condone piracy but I stopped buying PPVs about a year ago. Me and my buddy just get together Monday night and watch it for "free" from pirate bay.

I got $185 tickets - lower level below the luxury boxes. Should be decent - was tough finding 3 next to each other.

Triple H vs Undertaker? Hmmm... my vote is for Undertaker vs Mick for old times sake and since Undertaker should probably call it quits after this one.BurningDoom wrote:I don't even want to pay the ridiculous price for it on PPV. That would be a great way to go out. Is the Undertaker even still doing normal matches (like anything other than Wrestlemania)? I only watch Raw so I didn't know if he's doing Smackdown.Xeogred wrote:Triple H vs Undertaker? I think they could get Mick Foley back. He's not that old.

Re: Wrestlemania 2012!
I had only heard faint rumors of HHH/Undertaker 3 (well only last year was recognized in WWE canon, they never mentioned WM17 in the buildup) but HHH isn't breaking the streak and both men can't out-do what they did last year (given their limitations).
Undertaker has not been on TV since last year's WM. He was pretty active last year - feuding with Kane through the fall. Not so this year. 20-0 may be it.

There was more than faint rumors. It was flat out said by HHH right after the last Wrestlemania. It's just that I haven't heard anything since.retrosportsgamer wrote:I had only heard faint rumors of HHH/Undertaker 3 (well only last year was recognized in WWE canon, they never mentioned WM17 in the buildup) but HHH isn't breaking the streak and both men can't out-do what they did last year (given their limitations).

Re: Wrestlemania 2012!
This probably isn't a popular opinion, but I'd love for Kane to end the streak. To me, the only people that would make sense to end the streak are HBK and Kane. Obviously, HBK is out of the picture, but he would have been a logical choice just because he's Mr. Wrestlemania and I also thought it was clever how they did that thing where he was a warrior of God fighting Satan's helper in the Undertaker.
Kane makes sense to me because his character should know Undertaker better than anyone. Plus, he's got the whole supernatural power thing. I think that big feud he had with Taker that led to Kane's last run as champ would have been the perfect storyline to build up to a Wrestlemania and have him end the streak. That didn't happen unfortunately. I know that Kane isn't a guy who needs to add that to his resume, but him beating the streak would make sense from a storyline point of view, especially with Paul Bearer helping him
Realistically though, if someone ends the streak it'll probably be Cena as much as I would absolutely HATE seeing that happen, or maybe Orton. He is the Legend Killer. They could actually build a decent story around that actually. Personally, I'd love to see Punk end it. Punk doesn't have that one history making moment in his career yet like Jericho does with his first ever Undisputed Champ who beat the Rock and Austin in one night thing. I would also love to see Taker versus Henry, simply because the build up to it could be awesome. The unstoppable force versus the immovable object. Two monsters going at it. Unfortunately, I don't think those two could pull off a four to five star match together. I love Henry, but he is limited in the ring compared to a lot of other guys
