Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I guess according to what others are saying it sounds pretty doable, lol. I know a friend of mine that got like every achievement in Oblivion and Fallout 3, that's just nasty.

I haven't been actively pursuing achievements, but I'm at close to 70% already.

Getting every achievement in Oblivion is very easy. You basically just have to do all the main quests/guild quests.Xeogred wrote:I guess according to what others are saying it sounds pretty doable, lol. Yeah, I got them all in Oblivion. 1750 points I think it is.
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
So I had a friend tell me how the skill/stats improve your efficiency in those skills even without throwing the perks into them and whatnot, so now I have a question regarding lockpicking. Because I always have so many on me at a time, I've been able to get some Expert/Master locks after awhile. So I almost wonder if it's worthwhile spending points in lockpicking, but then again I spent one in Novice...
Basically my question is, if I spent a point or two in Apprentice and Adept lockpicking mastery or whatever, would that in turn make picking Expert/Master locks a bit easier as well? If so I guess another point or two might be worth it.
I wish I didn't waste a point in two handed since I ditched that, but oh well.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Can you get the Master and Expert perks without getting novince and adept? or do u you have to get each one to progress to the next?
Also, you could prob get the lockpicking skill to 100 and have no perks at all in it and it would be pretty easy. Buying the perks would just make it easier. I'm not 100% sure though, I just know that in Morrowind and Oblivion, if you had lvl 100 security, you could unlock anything without trouble.

It definitely gets easier as you get used to the breaking point at different lock levels, as well as just getting your skill higher. You do have to progress up the chain, but I'd say skip master and instead get unbreakable lockpick. They both require you to have the Expert perk and they both require 100 lockpicking, so unbreakable pick seems like the easier choice. I guess Master is there for people who feel like unbreakable lockpick is too much like cheating.darthmunky wrote:Can you get the Master and Expert perks without getting novince and adept? or do u you have to get each one to progress to the next?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
After picking many a lock I've come to the conclusion that most Master locks have a "sweet spot" that's not as random as you think. I've broken very few picks since discovering this. One of the sweet spots is on a speck of darker patina just shadowing the 3 o'clock position, etc. I haven't read anything online to verify this but my method works 99% of the time. I've hardly touched my lockpicking tree...no need.

Yeah, I haven't touched the lockpicking tree but I've never had to walk away from a lock. It helps that lockpicks can be bought from most merchants and lots of enemy mobs have them, so I don't mind breaking a few or 20 on a master lock.

So I am fighting Alduin, even using the Shout I just got I am getting my ass handed to me. Is there some type of technique other than bringing him to the ground with the shout I am missing?
