Battery Issues

Post by RCBH928 »

Lately I have been noticing that my Wii and 360 batteries die quickly , When batteries die I load new ones and I usually keep a console for 1 to 3 months unsed when I get back to it the batteries are dead.

Do batteries Run out of power just by being equiped within the controller? This seems to be the case, everytime I pick the controller after a long time of no use they die with like 2 days. Those are the higher end batteries with like Lithium ans e2 stuff that I do not understand but pretty much they are the expensive ones

yes they pretty much do. usually every manual from a battery powered device will say to remove the batteries if you will not use them for extended periods. ie- exploded batteries.

Pop the battery out if not used for a while
I think there might be a slight trickle drain on the Controllers. Just like a PC in Sleep Mode, maybe the controller is the same with a chip on standby that senses when you hit the power button?

Prefer corded when possible
The Lithium and E2 stuff are expensive and chargeable batteries don't have the run time of a regular one time use Alkaline. I just use Alkaline RayoVacs, they are cheaper then Duracell or EverReady.

I hate chargeable batteries, nothing more frustrating then grabbing a camera, controller or power drill and finding a dead battery.

Unless you use Eneloops, rechargeable batteries slowly lose their charge over time. My PS3 controllers do hold their charge pretty well, almost comparable to the Eneloops.
