Your favorite?

Plus, congrats. Not an easy task, and the payoff isn't really that satisfying. Being able to finally put down the controller is though.

To be honest, I enjoyed all three. The believe the original Ghosts N Goblins was the most difficult, there are two versions of the arcade Ghosts N Goblins and they're both different by the Red Armerr bosses being difficult and at the beginning of the stage you have two first boss ogres having the ladder surrounded so it's nearly impossible to not get hit where the one I played has only one ogre and therefore I am able to kill him pretty easy.

The 1st one was the most difficult for me, just as you thought you beat the stage using lances, suddenly it tells me it requires the shield in order for me to continue, my eyes widened up and I was ready to cry like a baby. but I do it again and get the shield and press forth.

but there was a satisfaction taking down those boss Red Armerr's because I referred to them as "Evil Elmo" lol

Is there no Kirby's Return to Dreamland thread ?

I had a gift card lying around for a while and had the opportunity to use it today, so I decided why not pick up Return to Dreamland? Glad I did, this game is awesome! I played from the start 2 player with my brother. I think we got up to the forth world already, and spent a lot of time playing the two mini games. Is there only two mini games? They were so much fun, I wish there were more. The throwing star one was great. This game is a blast, might even be better than Epic Yarn (which I really liked). It feels almost just like Kirby's Adventure for the NES, and that's what I love about it.

( Ghosts N Goblins and Ghouls N Ghosts were the arcade ports, not the NES ) Thinking of doing a review on all three of them as a compilation, but before I do I should play and beat Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins, wondering if I should play easy, normal, or ultimate mode.
I bow to your superior gaming skillz.

I would glady read your review, if you do it, send me a link :D

I beat Civilization V on Emperor, yes!

Everyone waged war on me at some point and it really hurt. They had Infantry when I only had Riflemen and my two (yes, two) artilleries were doing all the job.

I think that defensive wars simply don't work in this game, unless you scare them up by capturing a city they will refuse to peace and you will suffer greatly for it. Conquered cities also act as a buffer against an incoming enemy wave so your good cities don't get captured.

I think there would be but Nintendo chose a peculiar time to release it. It's going to fly under the radar for a lot of gamers, even retro heads like ourselves, sadly. It really is an awesome game.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

And thanks for the feed on Ghosts N Goblins, I think I'll make the review right now.

Yeah, I bought it at a K Mart (I had a Sears gift card) and the dude that opened the glass was like, "Wow, you're the first person to buy this game today." I'm guessing they were selling lots and lots of games, but apparently not Kirby.

Fuck it, I'm making a thread for it later. This game is too awesome not to have it's own thread!

I'm at a shitty time in my gaming life. I've started getting into retro gaming, but I can't afford to get a lot of the stuff I want. I also don't have the cash to cover new games, many of which I haven't been able to pick up yet. And I dread the thought of the new console generation. I welcom WiiU, but NEXTBox and PS4 can just wait. I still need to pick up a backwards compatible PS2/PS2 and PS3 (not sure which is a better idea....) BAAAH!
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

Something to consider: a b/c Ps3 means you won't need memory cards for your ps2 and can use the ps3's wireless controllers.
