Thinking about it, it really depends on the game. Terranigma needs to be all black. Just fits. I always wondered when I saw non-Turok black N64 carts, especially when they were games like Rugrats in Paris or Scooby Doo. Uncool.
You sayin' Rugrats in Paris isn't hardcore?

So here's the deal: I've taken every one's opinions into consideration and made minor compromises to try and satisfy every one, as well as work with in the time frame I have (I have about a week to get everything done). Right now I have the two carts sprayed and finished. Terranigma will be in a solid black cart (no blue grooves - sorry). Secret of Mana 2 will be in a blue cart with black grooves. That's already done and set in stone. I will upload some pics of them when I get the chance, but they look great.

As for the labels, the votes are extremely close on checkered versus solid black. Trying to take every one's opinions into account, I've decided to give Terranigma the solid black background and give Secret of Mana 2 the checkered background. The labels have not yet been printed, but will be soon.

Thamiel has put together a really nice looking cover (inside and outside) for me, and it looks great. Once I get every thing made up and put together, I'll be posting some pics of it all here.

Being that this is the first year I'm doing this, and the fact that I didn't give myself enough time (I underestimated) I think what we got right now is great. What I'm gonna do is gauge the results from this year's auction, then through out the next year I'll work on stuff little by little so it's not a huge thing to deal with at the end of next year. There's some great ideas that I didn't get to do this year, Thamiel has made a few awesome suggestions, that I would like to do next year.

Anyways, this is where we're at. Prepare to see pics of the final products soon!

So I just ordered with FedEx Kinkos, does $1.25 per print sound right? Because that's the price they gave me. I was shocked to see the estimated delivery date and time is TONIGHT, so I guess I'll find out soon enough how they look.

edit: The prints came today. They look amazing, the price had me a little scared. They're a little darker then they're suppose to be, I should have figured, but there's no way of knowing that before hand.

Anyways, I gotta cut them out and I still have to print the cart labels. And oh yeah... actually make the carts lol. Hopefully I'll get them finished in the next few days, and I'll have a little photo shoot with them.

Every thing is pretty much done! I took some pics of the two carts and the covers. Sorry, but my camera is pretty old, so they're not the most clear pictures, but they'll do. Hopefully you guys think they came out alright!

A big thanks goes out to Thamiel who helped a lot with the covers. Actually, he straight up designed the SoM2 cover, I just made a few minor changes and used it for Terranigma as well. Thank you, Hobie, as well, for all your help. Thank you CFFJR, who donated the UGC for me to use. And for that matter, thanks to every one else who gave me input and ideas!

A few minor things that could have been better, but hopefully people wont nit pick too much when auction time starts. The cover prints came out a little dark, but they don't look bad. But as a result, the inside covers are hard to see through the plastic (the Universal Game Cases aren't super clear plastic). The carts themselves came out great. I accidentally put the back label on the SoM2 cart a little off center, I'll try and fix that if I get the chance. Outside of aesthetics, they were built perfectly. I'm just testing the save batteries now, and then they'll be good to go! Hope you guys like them!

They look great man, utterly professional finish on those carts. Next time ill acquire a UGC myself and test print until its perfect.

You'll have to walk ne through your painting methods, did you use vinyl dye?

Vinyl dye would probably be the better way to go, but I used spray paint. Mostly for time constraints (I had it all on hand). But not just any old spray paint, Krylon Fusion spray paint. It's specially formulated to bond to plastic, and my experiences with it have been great. I painted a Gamecube, a few SNES carts, a SNES mini with controller (metallic finish) and maybe a few other things. As long as you spray it right, and make sure you let it fully cure, it's very strong.
