Hobie got to go. He posted some pics up in the Houston meet ups thread if you haven't seen them yet.

I stopped by Pinballz last weekend and got a chance to play Battletoads. I was surprised by how violent it was, mainly, my character's hand turning into a drill and just mutilating a downed foe with a fountain of blood erupting. Definitely not something you would see on the NES version.

I kept forgetting to post this, but Arcade UFO will have Tekken Tag Tournament 2 location test starting today until the 17th.

I'll probably be there today after 3pm.

That sounds awesome. Too bad I'm busy with the move all week this week. We have about 99% of our stuff moved over, but we still have to clean up the old place.

The new place is great, but much smaller than our old apartment. It's only a block away from one of my favorite Filipino restaurants.

My bro is coming to town toward the end of next week. I am going to drag him to Pinz and maybe UFO. Let me know if any of you guys want to tag along. May hit up Gourdoughs, too.

That was the best of all meet-ups!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Heads up...

Phaedrus and I were talking about putting together regularly scheduled "random fighting games" meets when the holiday smoke clears. This would be every other week. We would try to stay away from mainstream fighters, keeping things fresh.

I am going to talk to Game Over to see if they would be OK with us hosting this thing weekly or every other week at their Lamar store. I heard that there is a group already holding fighting game meets at the San Antonio store. I think we have a good chance at a yes as long as it doesn't interfere with other GO events.

I will mention this to the wife. We have been doing day hikes durring the weekend over the last few months. If it rains all weekend (like weather.com says it is), I may be down for this.
