The earliest I can clearly remember is DKC 1 at Wal-Mart. I know I played others before that at the video rental stores, but I can't remember what they were. I remember playing Sonic and Boogerman at the rental store too, so I guess my memory just doesn't go back much farther than the 16-bit age

Super Mario Bros at a Sears NES kiosk I believe. While my earliest gaming was on a 2600 I don't remember ever playing one in public (just at our grandparents).

Either NES at Macy's or Master System at JC Penney.

I remember playing star fox on SNES at Toys R Us. I don't remember seeing a console kiosk until super Nintendo though. I know the Sears I used to get games at didn't have one. All their games were in a jewelry counter setup so everything was behind glass.

Altered Beast - Genesis at Toys R Us - ALL. THE. TIME. The A button never worked so was unable to punch / fireball on first stage. FAIL!

At the store would be NES, but my dad had a Atari 2600 when I was a kid. I remember playing Frogger on it. Thinking about 1986 or so .
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

When Smash Bros came out for the 64 I remember waiting in line to try it for an hour. It was so cool to see Link and Mario in then same game. 8)

At stores I have no idea. I had a Coleco though with a bunch of games including Carnival, Smurfs, Donkey Kong & DK Jr, Zaxxon, Ladybug and others. Eventually got the 2600 add-on. One of my friends had an Atari which we played Spider-Man on and another of my friends had the Intellivision which I'm pretty sure we played AD&D on. My earliest games though were probably Space Invaders and Pac-Man type games at the arcade or corner 7-11 type store.
