Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Shenmue 2, Rayman 2, off the top of my head.o.pwuaioc wrote: Not at all. Why would I be? This isn't a hard and fast rule, of course. Apparently Crazy Taxi is the best of its kind, but apart from that, what later multiplatform games are better on DC than on the other three?
Are there any games that are better on the PS2 then the Xbox

So, only games that were first made for the DC and then ported to other consoles?BoringSupreez wrote:Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Shenmue 2, Rayman 2, off the top of my head.o.pwuaioc wrote: Not at all. How do you figure? Rayman 2 maybe, but the SAs and Shenmue 2?BoringSupreez wrote:Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Shenmue 2, Rayman 2, off the top of my head.o.pwuaioc wrote: Not at all. Why would I be? Older. Not wiser.

Both Sonic Adventures were made for the Dreamcast. Dunno about Shenmue 2, I never played it.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:How do you figure? Sonic Adventure 1 was awful on GCN, IMO. The framerate wasn't locked, so it'd shoot up to 60 FPS before crashing down to 15-20 FPS, making the slowdown areas all the more glaring. Also had a weird cell-shaded look the original didn't have.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:How do you figure? Sonic Adventure 2 is only slightly better on DC, in niggly ways. Only big fans of the game will care.
Can't remember the exact reasons for Shenmue 2 at the moment, but I've heard it many times. Maybe they were just fanboys, if you didn't notice any difference. I've never played the second game, FYI.

Re: Are there any games that are better on the PS2 then the Xbox
Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast, if bought from the UK, has the original voices with subtitles. The Xbox game has the same horrible voice acting the original Dreamcast game did in the US, I much prefer the subtitled versions.
Secondarily to that, the Dreamcast's analog stick and triggers actually is more sensitive than the Dual Shock or Xbox controllers. If a game was actually made for the Dreamcast it will always play best, or at least most precise, on the Dreamcast.

I've heard from numerous people that Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is better on PS2 than Xbox.
The two games were made by different developers (Xbox: Climax/PS2: Rebellion), and the Xbox version was designed to mimic its PC counterpart while the PS2 version had different gameplay features and graphics. Also, the Xbox has an awful manual save system while the PS2 is said to use a much wiser checkpoint autosave system.

Although I haven't played the PS2 version yet, I have played the Xbox version and I honestly thought it was a sack of shit. The graphics and sound were horrible. The scenery was very dull and poorly designed. I got it on the cheap for like $2 or $3 and I even thought THAT was overpaying. But what I've seen from video clips, the PS2 version looks and sounds much more impressive.

Yeah, which version of that is the best? I'd actually like to buy both of those Baldur's Gate games - I & IIo.pwuaioc wrote:What about Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance?
