Eeek, don't know if our great minds can concur on that one. Some of those just sound like a mess to me... but they're not that bad.

My SNES nostalgia goggles are just too thick to break.
(when I played FFIV Complete earlier this year, I made sure to turn on the old music instantly. lol)

Capcom should hire SSH for the next Megaman game.

I wouldn't use a knife. The tabs are fairly thick and trying to cut them in there you're likely to have trouble and slip and gouge things up or hurt yourself. Use wire nippers or needlenose pliers to cut or twist them off. Or of course you can use a Game Genie as long as the game doesn't have extra chips that use the outer contacts. The Game Genie I had didn't have the outer pins even though the top shroud had the outer bits.

Perhaps I'm less critical of Maverick Hunter X's soundtrack because I know it's a remake. With MM X 3, it's like they changed the music but tried to present it as the same game. So I was really blindsided when I played the CD version and everything sounded different. I don't know, I didn't mind Maverick Hunter X's soundtrack. I thought the new tunes fit with the new look and the addition of voices. Though I ended up buying the game first in Japanese as I hated the english dub voices. I then bought the english version too because I'm just that big of a hardcore MM X fan

I do think the American intro theme is better than the japanese one though, but that's debatable I suppose. The japanese one just lacks any drama or edge to it

Both intros are pretty lame... Maverick Hunter X is pretty bad overall imo. I wanted to like it, and Vile mode sounds good on paper, but the remake just did nothing for me. Just can't top the original I suppose.

Use a needle nose pliers. It's just the right width to pull out the tab and avoid contact with everything else. You just have to twist the tabs a little and that's it. I've done it twice with no issues and I've never even tried my hand at other mods.
