If you level him, Bleu is hands down the best character in the game, on the Genesis version...Xeogred wrote:Yeah noise I think I hit my breaking point with Gong in chapter 6, he's totally worthless now. lol, I think I'll throw in Bleu the dragon instead, any thoughts on him? Sounds pretty good from what I've read.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Mae is my highest leveled character -- promoted at 20 and now she's got another 30 on that.
Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
I guess he can be promoted too? But yeah don't know if I'll go to that extreme with him. But ANYTHING is better than Gong at this point really... he's so slow and barely doing anything, and he doesn't have much MP. I just stocked up everyone with Healing Seeds and I'll keep Lowe around, see how that works out.
Luke is already becoming the best again after promotion, lol. Gort isn't too bad and Zylo is getting better again. I promoted Guntz at 18 so he's probably going to rock.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
noise, not to shove it in... but I just wanted you to know Guntz at level 1 (promoted) with a Halberd is dishing out 25 damage on average. lmao
Is the battle with Mishaela the last one in chapter 6? I feel like this battle would be easy to abuse and gain some levels with. The three gargoyles that fly down to your left (happened twice so far) are pathetically easy to take down.

no it's fine. The weird thing is I kind of know that I stuck with kind of a crap party. But I liked them so just leveled them up.Xeogred wrote:noise, not to shove it in... but I just wanted you to know Guntz at level 1 (promoted) with a Halberd is dishing out 25 damage on average. lmao

I used:
Max
Luke
Ken
Tao
Hans
Gort
Mae
Anri
Diane
Zylo
Lyle
Alef
as my party pretty much from the time I recruited each of those until the end of the game.
Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Hehe, yeah to each their own. You beat it so obviously your army worked out well for you. I'm feeling like I might do the same from here on, I'll guess I'm at the end of chapter 6 here or close to it and I don't know if I'll get anymore characters ahead, but I might just stick with what I have since I'm already building up a specific group myself. This is who I've been using for awhile now:
Max
Earnest
Gort
Luke
Guntz
Anri
Domingo
Lowe
Lyle
Balbaroy
Zylo
And replaced Gong with Bleu, whom... seems alright I guess. Definitely sounds like people say he's the best fully leveled up and promoted, but I don't know if I'll go to that extreme with him. Maybe I'll bring back Tao or another centaur.
When the mages promote do they start with good magic? If not I can imagine it might be a pain leveling them. Anri is at 17 for me, so trying to get her to 20 before promoting. Tao's way back at 10 so she's been left behind for awhile.
How da hell do you get a healer that high up? lmao... would it be worth promoting Lowe right when he gets to level 10? Him and Gong are ~9 for me and believe me, I use them for healing as often as I can, but that's all they can do... so never gaining much exp per battles.
