it's slightly shady, but doesn't really bother me. The sticker will still say "new" or "used" and the prices will be different.

It should be easy to trick customers into buying used since they have been selling opened "new" games for years.
Selling half my NES/SNES/PS1 collection (ending Dec 1):

THIS. I have no problem with it, I think kotaku is trying to make a story out of a non story. Some might think the used prices is going away. I can't blame Gamestop for pushing to sell the used copies first, a better profit margin. I support the used game sells myself, it is a better purchase for me. :D

doesn't bother me either. it also let me compare the prices from new to used games without going to the next section. their probably just making future room for Vita, 3DS and Wii U..

I just don't like the place. I don't like the atmosphere, I don't like their policies of things like selling gutted new copies, I don't like active pushing of used over new (especially when it effects games being published by smaller companies who need those sales), I don't like how cramped and small they make the stores intentionally or the way they're laid out, I don't like how they took over and replaced all the EB games stores we had around town and made them drop all of their retro stuff. To top it all off, their prices really aren't even that good.

I don't even need to get into stuff like trashing ps2 cases. Do you guys have ANY other local options?

What if every business did this? Its one thing to put them all together, its another to make them less distinguishable and put them together. What if you want to buy a car and all the used are mixed with the new and the only thing distinguishing them is the words used and new on the paper on the window. How about going to Guitar Center and the same thing.

I would have no problem with this if they kept the yellow and white tags, or do what my stores do and put bright orange stickers that say used curling across the top back and front.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

notice that the actual picture doesn't say anything about hiding new copies behind used ones:

I do'nt know. Just seems mountain/molehill territory right now. I'm fine with browsing a SINGLE section of games instead of having to look for the same game in two sections. Even if the motive IS shady, I don't really see the outcome as being earth-shakingly awful.

Most of what gamestop does is pretty molehill-ish I'll admit, (the worst thing they've probably done is the whole trashing ps2 cases thing) but enough molehills stacked on top of each other begins to look pretty damn big.

(did that make any sense?)

hahaha yes. It just bothers some of us more than others. I get and appreciate that. And obviously you know I'm not trolling you, bud.
