It wasn't there. Skyward Sword claims it needs to do a "system update". This update takes about 5 seconds compared to the usual minute or so that a system update takes. After I get back to the menu, Netflix is there.
Is this true? Even if Skyward Sword plays fine without the update, its probably better to allow it. Maybe a feature later on in the game level may not work without the update.

I know Netflix can easily be deleted afterwards, but does the update also automatically lock the Wii console and your account to NetFlix? The concern here is if at a later date one did decide to use NetFlix feature on another Wii; the tap dance with Nintendo to unlock the old account.

@ Zing - I noticed your two Threads. Which is getting the most gameplay, Skyward or Skylanders?

Red Steel 2 also has a bundle package the Motion Plus add on. It was clearance a while back, maybe you might get lucky and still find one.

That's to add motion plus to a regular remote though (I think). I'd rather get this:

And Red Steel 2 is only $15 on Amazon. Sure, you'll pay a little more, but you'll also have a second controller.

The game does come with a flyer with a Netflix section, so I assume this was some sort of deal between Nintendo and Netflix to include it as a "system update". I have no idea how to not allow this to be installed, as the "disc channel" wouldn't load the game until I installed the "update".

Skylanders was getting regular play every day, alternately with my girlfriend and daughter. Girlfriend went on vacation for the week, and daughter has been demanding Zelda every day now. That's actually fine with me, because I want to wait until the new Skylanders figures are released before completing a second play through of the game. Both girls in my life were demanding Skylanders daily until Zelda hit.

I'm a little over 5 hours in so far. Haven't even tackled the first dungeon yet, but I'll get to that tonight. I have a tendency to wander in Zelda games. Did manage to find one piece of heart so far without any of the help I usually need, so.....go me

I really like it so far. The art is really pretty and the score in particular is really beautiful so I'm really glad they gave us a soundtrack. I'm going to pop it into the stereo tomorrow, set it on repeat and listen to it while I work

I'm doing pretty well at finding the heart pieces in this one so far. I'm at 15 hearts, and I have at least one dungeon left, so that'll be 16. It looks like there's a maximum of 20.

I played a bit more tonight and the game makes it very obvious when you are finally able to adjust the user interface level. Now I understand why you guys were so flabbergasted. I guess Nintendo just didn't want anyone disabling any of the "help" features until they had walked you through every one of them.

The game also looks much better with 16:9 enhanced mode on my TV. I can actually read all of the text now.
