The site is a "humor" site, but it is 100% based on racist humor - which we do not tolerate around here. It isn't a matter of "getting it," it is a matter of not standing for jokes that denigrate based on someone's skin color, social class, sexual orientation, etc. Remember, we have a policy that states:

Do not post anything which is offensive, hateful, racist, sexist, discriminatory, obscene, vulgar or in violation of local or international laws.

Agree or disagree with that rule, it is one that we expect members of the forum to follow.

Personally, i find this kind of site repulsive and have a severe distaste for people who actually DO find it humorous. There's a way to do race-based humor that brings attention to the problems of racism, and then there's a way to do it which is itself racist. This site crosses that line pretty much from the start.

And for what it's worth, SomethingAwful took a crack at them and the geniuses of comedy that frequent the site here: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/weekend ... rmania.php

I don't get how the vast majority of racist jokes are funny, unless you're racist. The basic punchline usually amounts to "stereotype confirmed". It's like you have to believe in the stereotype in order to find the conclusion funny. If you don't think that the stereotype is true, then the punchline doesn't ring with truth, and therefore isn't funny. And even if you recognize that other people might think it rings of truth, it then just becomes annoying that other people think that way, and is still not funny. So, aside from obviously being in bad taste, the jokes are also bad comedy.

I'm just saying you're categorically lumping all types of "racist" jokes into one. That makes for a poor argument when you logically conclude that people are either x, y, or z when in fact they could be a, b, or c too. Adding "most of the time" without qualification does little. Do you think Dave Chappelle's racially charged jokes were bad?

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you - in fact, I probably do agree with you - but it's something that can't just be written off like that.
