I don't get it. She only gets ally boosting spells if she levels up. She only levels up if she gets experience. She only gets more experience if she attacks. If I put her within attack range of any enemies, she's dead.

Just line up your characters in a way the mages and Max can't get hurt then dish out the pain.

I think there are in total 4 of these battles (but if not its 5 tops).
You start only with Narsha. Stay out of danger and get to any chests you can. Then Zuika awakens. Bring Zuika next to Narsha, pay attention to the order of the enemies in relation to Zuika and Narsha, position so that you can get to them but they can't get to Narsha and use Zuika to weaken an enemy and Narsha to finish him. Narsha levels up EXTREMELY well, with 1 or 2 level ups I had her Defense high enough that she could take hits better than Zuika.
Also, Zuika is very good at counter-attacks, he does that quite often.

I either got the "Attack" spell in that mission or early in the second one. You can then use it to boost Narsha's attack. Use the healing items (you should not have enough MP to boost attack and still use Aura to heal.

When you get the third character that mission is easy as he can tank very well with his high defense. Then the last mission can be very hard if you screw up (like I did) but even then I managed to not lose a single unit (barely had Zuika gone).

I'll be playing a New game+ and tell you more when I get there again.

agreed. I've kept all 3, promoted them and given them those exploding gun weapons. They're pretty great for long range attacks. Hans is the weakest, but once promoted he does just fine.

I love Zylo though. He's a machine, especially once promoted. Gong sucks though. I stopped using him a while ago.
Gong is starting to suck, yeah. He usually gets killed in one hit or close to it. I still keep him and Lowe around for healing, though Lowe has more HP and way more MP, heals more too. Plus Heal 2, he's far more useful... I usually use up Gong's MP then throw him out in the middle of everything just for cannon fodder.

Zylo is absolute beast, promoted him last night at 16 or 17, so can't wait to see what he's like now.

Now you guys tell me the archers are good late game? Haha. Maybe I'll check out Lyle. I could probably switch out one of the flying guys for an archer perhaps. I like that the flying birdman can cover a lot of ground, but they aren't all that strong. Plus I'm using Domingo a lot now and he's incredibly good (can he be promoted?)

Guntz is absolutely insane too, he almost always does two hits.

First battle in chapter 6, and yeah I can sense the difficulty rising here a bit now. Heh, those surprise golems and everything almost had me since I was so spread out. I knew the map looked too easy at a glance, haha.

I destroy with Narsha... just had to make sure she killed some of the easier enemies in the epilogues. She will soon pass up zuika in power.

I gave up on Guntz pretty quick cuz he kept dying in one hit. Same with Domingo. Maybe I should try them again.

At the very least you should've kept Domingo. Towards the end of the game Guntz is less useful.
