A lot of Americans don't seem to realize this, but racism isn't an exclusively American problem, as you said. In fact, racism is the norm for the majority of the world and throughout history; societies with racial equality are rare.

Not quite. Ethnic inequality is rampant, but that's not always "racial", which is actually absent from many cultures.
