Re: PETA slams Mario over the use of a fur suit
What's next then? Is it unethical that Mario stomps on Koopa Troopers since they're turtles?
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Yea PETA is late to the party. Mario has been advocating the wholesale slaughter of animals for decades. He was originally the cruel owner of Donkey Kong too. Mario doesn't have the most stellar record when it comes to the human treatment of animals.o.pwuaioc wrote:Never played Super Mario Bros 3?Haoie wrote:I didn't think Mario was much of a furry before. To be fair, animals aren't exactly kind of nice to Mario either.saturnfan wrote:Yea PETA is late to the party. Mario has been advocating the wholesale slaughter of animals for decades. Perhaps he is just allergic.

After being chased by so many skeletal koopa troopers I'd start stomping on every one I started seeing too. Don't want the zombie infection spreading after all. You can never be to sure.General_Norris wrote:To be fair, animals aren't exactly kind of nice to Mario either.

And the next debate of the day is: Do zombies have animal rights?Michi wrote:After being chased by so many skeletal koopa troopers I'd start stomping on every one I started seeing too. Don't want the zombie infection spreading after all. You can never be to sure.

When the UK was having it's elections there was a party in my local area running called 'The Citizens for Undead Rights and Equality (CURE)'.

Re: PETA slams Mario over the use of a fur suit
This is dumb. A) because it was mentioned by PETA, tongue in cheek, to bring attention to a realworld "epidemic" and B) as it was my understanding, Mario doesn't kill anything. The powerups allow him to become the creatures and gain those powers. He doesn't collapse into a quantum singularity when he gains the star invincibility nor does he level a forest to gain a leaf to become a raccoon (damn Japanese folklore that makes no sense). PETA is an organization that is way too close to Scientology in its logic and bizarreness. Perhaps if they would shut the hell up, eat a steak, and stop creating stupid redundant arguments, I'd pay more attention.
