that's odd... as far as I knew there was no NEW copies released without the book and box. Maybe this price drop is proof of a barebones repress?

Wouldn't be surprised if some sellers are separating the game from the rest to make more money. Haven't heard of a a release without the box/artbook either.

Compile Heart is either teasing Hyperdimension Neptunia news or they are heartlessly playing with fans. The publisher posted an issue of "Noire Style" which says "Urgent News!! Noire is the focus of a new game!?"

While Compile Heart has not announced any future titles, Business development manager Damien Urvois said to Siliconera, "Next year will be the year of Neptunia." Hyperdimension Neptunia fans in Japan recently selected Noire as their favorite character, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Black Heart got her own video game. But what kind of game would it be?

I got mine new for only $35 months ago. Bought it at a music store that typically sells video games for well under retail price. Unfortunately, they "gut" games like this, keeping all the goods behind the counter and just the box on the shelf. My box is all beat up because of people groping (and fapping to?) it. My other big-box PS3 games are in phenomenal shape at least.

The game is due to be released as a special edition with a Purple Heart figurine, a Purple Sister figurine, a soundtrack, and an art book.
