NOOOOOOO, MAKE IT STOP, PLEEEASSEEE (Woody Woodpecker CGI)

Post by Erik_Twice »

It's getting made, whhhhhhyyy.

http://www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film ... ecker.html

It simply won't work. Just look at my avatar! No corporate executive is gong to allow something like that to happen. They will make Woody a hero, a boring one instead of the earthquake of destruction he is. It's going to be another crappy kiddy reboot AND THAT DRIVES ME MAD.

At laest I hope we get another batch of Woody DVDs, ones that are not destroyed by digital restoration.

Next stop: UPA cartoons...ON THREE D

Yeah, I can't see this being good either. Many older cartoons had a kind of snark in them that won't fly these days. Of course newer cartoons can have snark that you couldn't do back then. Both are just different and should be kept as such.

Could you provide an example? I don't know where you are coming from with this.

Great, this sucks. Can't wait till they start ruining MY childhood favorites with CGI remakes. :x

Thing is, no kid (well not every kid but the vast majority) knows who Woody is anyway. Same, surprisingly, with the Muppets and the real deal Loony Tunes. I look at it as "well, if they like this shitty version, maybe they'll LOOOOOVE the originals", which only opens up kids to different and older (and I say better) material.

I also say this in hopes that the new Three Stooges Movie won't be utter crap (I'm not holding my breath).

Well ok, 50s attitudes and the like. Tex Avery stuff. Lots of Warner Bros stuff that I could still see on Saturday morning cartoons when I was little that was removed from showings by the time I was a teenager. I swear Heckle and Jeckle had stuff that wouldn't fly today. Been forever since I've seen it though.
