That big ugly black beast is a last resort for me, really. Nearly every game plays better on other systems and I only use it for exclusives (Panzer Dragoon Orta, Phantom Dust). I feel the same way about its successor too.
I disagree on several points there... the xbox was nice with the internal hd storage. It also usually generated the best graphics for multi platform games.

Though, the xbox isn't nearly as good as a retro machine. One of its biggest strengths was online gameplay and caability. Xbxo live on it was pretty awesome, but useless now of course. Ps2 is stll my favorite of the generation for its amazing library.

As far as multiplatform titles, I usually find the game is best on its lead development platform. At first, this was the 360 most often, now it is more even. 360 does some things better, ps3 does some things better, pc usually does it the best :D

At least we both agree DC should be #1.

How did the whole "oXbox" thing get started anyway?

The oXbox wasn't that popular, but, the Xbox 360 is. So a lot of times when you say "Xbox" people will think you're talking about the 360 when you're talking about the oXbox.

Or as I sometimes pronounce it for the luls, ox-box.

I'll second this organization, I'll avoid using that not a d-pad with silly shapes an one letter control pad at all costs. With the Xbox I can use either the Duke or the S Controller, and in some cases I can play the game at 720p with my wireless 360 pad. With the Gamecube everything pretty much looks and plays great at 480p with the Wavebird. The trademark PS2 jaggies and low color/resolution textures set me against even the good unique games right off the bat. The Dual Shock controller makes the gameplay awkward no matter how much I want to like it (Shinobi, Blood Will Tell, and um..).

Really though, outside of the Dreamcast I don't own, intend to own or play much from the "Core" generation. Before the onslaught of cinematic FPS and me too sandbox games, there was a ton of sports games, licensed games, and Zelda games with "grit". The true Action games were few and far between, possibly more so than the current generation.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Not at all. Why would I be? This isn't a hard and fast rule, of course. Apparently Crazy Taxi is the best of its kind, but apart from that, what later multiplatform games are better on DC than on the other three?
