Got Darkspore at K-Mart for $17, which I suppose is pretty cheap for a game that came out this year.

I'm already pissed though. DRM up the ass and it doesn't come with physical instructions.

It seems to be a slow time for finding video games at thrift stores lately. Combine that with having no money and being super busy at work for the holiday times, I haven't found too much noteworthiness, but here's about 3 weeks worth of finds from the local Mormon thrift chain:

Image

Nightmare Creatures (N64 - $1.00)
Turok: Rage Wars (N64 - $1.00)
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (N64 - $1.00)
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64 - $1.00)
Road Rash 64 (N64 - $1.00)
Mario Party 2 (N64 - $1.00)
Virtual Springfield (PC CD-ROM - $1.00)
King's Field (PS1 - complete! - $3.00)
Shinobi II: The Silent Fury (Game Gear - $3.00)
Devilish: Sage's Creation (Game Gear - $3.00)
Why did they give such a cool name to a kind of terrible puzzle game - GRR.)
3 WICO Command Control Atari joysticks ($1.00 each)
Knuckles toy - $0.50
I have no idea what this toy is supposed to to do, but it has a battery compartment and zero points of articulation.

Strangely, not true for me. My local retro store in Houston once had the Capcom Collection Volumes in stock (G'n'G and something else) along with some Neon Genesis Evangelion games two years or so ago, and last year around this time, I found Pocket Fighter, Castlevania: SotN, KoF '97 at a thrift store near my house

I just watch for deals online, but sometime down the line I will come across some imports in the wild again

I picked up a copy of Gimmick CIB for the Famicom the other day:

It is a pretty rare one but I paid next to nothing for it. Great bargain find. :D

I may have to visit Target yet again
I picked up Dragons Lair trilogy a while back at Target for under fifteen bucks, even at that price a bargain. Not the greatest "Action" game, but a good romp for the nostalgia, also has a watch mode. At five bucks, definitely worth picking up for the collection, a piece of "Laser Disc" gaming history to own. 8)
