I killed Mom!

Post by jfrost »

Isaac's mom, that is. Of The Binding of Isaac.

Damn, that was freaking brutal.

And I'll even come back to kill her again.

Just wanted to share this. Super Meat Boy got nothing on The Binding of Isaac.

Congrats on killing mom.(never thought i would write that in a forum)

Binding of Isaac is a top notch game.Currently half price on steam so if your on the fence,GO BUY IT.

I have a fair few hours on this and have never even seen mom!but you know what?I still keep coming back for more.No play through is the same!

I guess to get to mom easily its all about getting a good lucky run on pick ups etc.But then i do have a habit of forgetting to use my specials.

You do know you have to kill mom (The heart, not the first stage mom(Which is the foot)) 9 times to watch the final ending (It gets harder each time, and you unlock new items / enemies get stronger) with each completion as well as a new ending and characters, etc.

Good luck

Just bought this yesterday and I'm in love with it. emwearz suggested it a while back and I finally got around to picking it up on Steam. Made it to Mom today but by that point I had made two "deals with the devil" in order to unlock Eve... needless to say, I didn't stand a chance with one heart container. I did manage to unlock Cain in the same playthrough though, and by the time I finally died I had three familiars and the "technology" upgrade, among others. AMAZING game.

I got the Golden God achievement. I've died 125 times and killed Mom 29 times (and have seen the 11 endings). They count killing Satan as killing Mom too though.

The first time I killed Mom's Heart I used Technology. I was so freaking nervous, I almost didn't make it. I had half a heart left. Mom's Heart isn't even so difficult. The first time Mom appears is much harder with all the enemies on the screen and everything.

I think Cain is very good for getting the hang of the game, since he starts with Lucky Foot. That gives you a 50/50 chance of getting a prize at the skull game in the arcade (in that game you can get Skatole, that keeps flies away from you - Boom Flies will be slower). Also, it will be much easier to get a dollar in the slot machine and Blood Bags in the blood donation machine.

Anyway, I love the game, and the more times you finish it the more interesting it gets.

I haven't tried using Cain yet, but I did mess around with Eve a bit and she adds an interesting twist to the normal gameplay. I'm a sucker for hidden characters and this game definitely delivers.

By the way, my death count looks high, but I was only able to beat the game for the first time after like 40 deaths. Then it got much easier.
