The Transfomers thread!!
It looks like many of us here are fans of the series and toys. So lets make a thread on our likes of our favorite transforming toys! Feel free to post sites and things related.
So to start it off heres some finds that I got from my local ROSS store.
I've been trying to find these toys for some months now. It seems to me that the "Reveal The Sheild" toyline was practically non existant in my local walmarts and stuff.
I had a hard time trying to choose which ones to take home with me. They still had optimus and bumblebee and jazz there. But I'm hapy with the ones I got. I'm sure that by the time I get back there the rest will be gone! Black friday is coming up so I dont think I'll have enough to get them.
So go hit up you local ross and get these cool toys! They are about 7 bucks right now!

Dude, killer thread.
Nice find on those 'formers. I haven't seen Perceptor around, or Wreck-Gar. But I did find Traxx. Unfortunately, he's not very stable when transformed.
Here's a few in my living room:

And what's in my closet (in two parts)

There are 1 or 2 originals somewhere in there, including that G1 Soundwave, but I'm not your typical collector. I open the ones I buy and play with them from time to time. (Im 34, btw). Even the re-issue Traxx (from the original G1 mold) is open and decals applied. The only one that's still in it's package is the Skull One Valkyrie from Robotech, but that's a Masterpiece that was a limited run. I DO take him out from time to time and transform him back and forth a few times though. I don't ever plan on having kids, but if I ever do, I'll pass them along when they're old enough to enjoy them as well as appreciate them - without breaking/losing them.
As far as purchasing is concerned - I have some 'ground rules'. First and foremost - I do not accept fugly robots or robot modes. I.E. Beastwars. I *love* the show. I hated it when it was on TV, but I've since re-watched it and realized/agree that it had some WICKED good writing and storytelling so it's a fantastic show. But as far as the toys are concerned - pass. No thanks. Ugly, ugly, ugly.
I want my T-former toys to look blocky, and like ROBOTS. Not like insectoid... things - except for the Insecticons though, natch. I did buy a Bay-Formers voyager class Starscream from Target though, but it was marked down to like $7, seriously. I couldn't pass it up. I never transform him though. I got a Bayformers Jazz once, and that was just... pitiful. I also got a Transformers Animated (I effing... hate.. that show...) version of Blitzwing because he was at a Tuesday Morning store and was marked down to like $10. I don't like the toy. Works like shit. But even with new ones, I won't buy them if they have a weird looking robot mode. I prefer to stick with classic characters, or at least classic(er) designs.
Anyway, didn't mean to rant, but yeah. I try to find the 'good' transformers in the new series toys and there are quite a few nice ones I'd still like to buy. I want to get the last Jetfire they released but I haven't been able to find him yet. I also want a Masterpiece 'Scream, but I'd settle for a Thundercracker or Skywarp. Walmart had several Skywarps in the box for like $40 once, but I had zero to my name. Waited for payday, and when I went back - gone.

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
Cool! I also have a sizable collection. I posted some pics in this other thread http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... a&start=20
But I thought that I would be good to make a single thread.
Yeah, I remember beast wars, the toy lines were okay. But it sucks to try and recollect them. Since they (and now all) have those breakable joints, kids break them into little pieces and it's very rare to find a complete beastwars transfomer.
I think hasbro is tyring to play it safe. Way back then when TF were made with hard plastic and metal, Kids couldn't use them right and they would get cut on the pieces of it.
When beastwars came out they were still learning to make them with breakable joints. Gladly now TF have bettter design and still have those ball joints but like I said, it hard to find them complete at flemarkets and thrift stores.
but i'll still collect them.

I have a ton of 1st gen toys in storage that I've had since childhood. Other than that I just have two Masterpiece toys (Starscream and Convoy) that I got when I lived in Japan.

I'm bumping my old ass thread!

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
I thought I had decent collection of Transformers until I met a friend of mine who is obsessed. My collection of 200 was dwarfed by his 1800. I cant find any pictures of his collection online right now (they are most likely on deviant art).
Edit:
This is oddly appropriate:

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
I was always interested in Transformers. I was never around for the show, and the only toys I ever had was a half melted and extremely old VW bug that got destroyed in a tragic farming accident. (AKA, we were driving in the truck, and I somehow dropped him into the hay baler...)
