When Sons of Liberty was released on PS2, it was announced that the game would be ported to the Xbox with extra content (biggie for MS back then... and now actually). Unfortunately, the port didn't fair so well. The game wasn't optimized to make use of the more powerful hardware and almost feels like it's being emulated. Lots of chop where there wasn't any before.

The PS2 version of Substance runs just as well as Sons of Liberty did. It's also easier to play the game using the controller it was designed for in the first place.
I can vouch for the PC conversion being absolutely terrible. No other game gave me such a hard time to get running, from GeForce incompatibility to dual-axis configuration issues.. MGS2 on the PC was a disaster.

Yea, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance sucked pretty hard on the Xbox.

Project Snowblind is better on PS2 than oXbox, oddly enough. Better framerate and whatnot. No idea how that happened.

I would say that the Gamecube got the best version, but then again, I am clearly biased. I have herd that it has better load times, equal-quality audio, and just runs better overall. I will always remember it as a Gamecube game.
The PC version is best, as JT said. It is already just as good as the GCN version functionality-wise, plus it looks as good as the new HD versions. Faster loading too.

I can't really think of any games that were truly better on the PS2 vs the Xbox. Even in crappy ports the raw power of the Xbox generally made the games on par with the PS2.

It's difficult to make a game better on PS2 than on Xbox, just because Xbox had so much more power. The only way it could usually happen is if the developer was good at coding for PS2, but bad at Xbox coding. Or, if the PS2 version got exclusive stuff (not common).

Overall it is worth owning a ps2. Only because i was Way more satified with a large selection of games compared to nintendo limited 3rd party support and not being able to play cool foreign games. I still love ps2 controller. There is an advantage ps2 gta games on hard drive improves loading times at a fast rate. I think there are more horror games on ps2 than xbox or gamecube. If were to own a xbox it would like caring large brick. Mvc2 is good port. Soul calibur 3 only on ps2. guitar hero 1 only on ps2

I prefer Timesplitters 2 on PS2.

The Pro Evolution Soccer series are better on the PS2 pad also.
