I'm fine with compilations if they make improvements to the original games, like the HD collections. However, I never bother with compilations of cartridge games because modern systems have inferior d-pads.

I prefer individual releases but sometimes that's just not worth it.

O has always been Enter in Japan, it's not Kojima's fault. It's Konami's fault for not localizing it.

I prefer compilations for arcade and Neo Geo games. The rest I want on the original hardware. Not sure what to do about Japanese games never released here.

Didn't all PS/PS2 games originally do that? Pretty sure they were changed for NTSC-U (and maybe PAL?).

I'm a sucker for compilations. I freaking love them. Not only do you get a bunch of old favorites, but you usually you also discover a few new ones! What's not to love about that? But my very favorite games I'll still collect in their original format, anyways, just because their favorites.

Oh, and so many good ones out there to own: Capcom Classics Collection 1 & 2, Mega Man Anniversary Collection, Mega Man X Collection, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, Sonic Gems Collection, SNK Arcade Classics, Metal Slug Anthology, Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3, Zelda Collector's Disc, Super Mario All-Stars

I generally prefer the original cartridges. That's why I have all these retro consoles after-all. There are a few exceptions. For instance, I effing love Sonic Gems collection.

I'm a sucker for compilations, but I'll vote for both too. Even when I already owned Megaman X-X6, I still bought the X Collection when it came out. Then there's a bunch of Genesis games I own, but I still bought the Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Gems, and then bought a compilation over a compilation with the Sonic Genesis Ultimate Collection. lol

There are some pretty good compilations out there, like the Sega Genesis collection ones. They're awesome. Generally though I never bought them, but I'm really loving these PS3 compilations of PS2 games. I was kind of on the fence because for awhile there were only compilations of series I'm not very fond of, but after the Ico/SOTC, DMC, and MGS compilations, I'm officially for it. The HD upgrades look great and the extra shelf space is nice. Fingers crossed for Armored Core and Yakuza.

Japanese PS3/PSP games still use O as confirm. I'm actually more used to that than the X as confirm these days to be honest. Makes more sense too.
