I'd go with Mario 3D Land.

Is it weird that I still enjoy the hell out of fighters despite being pretty bad at almost all of them?

Seems like the only time I can win a fight online is if the other guy has connection problems!

Get SM3DL and Skyward Sword together.

If you buy Metal Gear Solid off PSN, how are you supposed to beat it?

You can't look on the back of the box for Meryl's codec number. You don't have a box!

You should train under the most venerable sensei sevin0seven. It's how I got better...though I still have a long way to go. :P

Good point. They must have thought of something though. Do you get a digital manual with the game like you do with Virtual Console games? Also, when you fight Psycho Mantis, is there a way to plug the controller into port 2?

I know Startropics on VC had a 'virtual letter' you could drag into a virtual glass of water in its Operations Guide. Maybe they've done someting similar?

I doubt they did anything about the Meryl codec thing, but you can switch controllers by holding the home button and changing controller ports/players so that fight is beatable.

Did a search on a gamefaqs board. Here's what I turned up:
If you downloaded this from the PSN, and for some reason get stranded somewhere without the internet, and you forget what Meryl's codec frequency is, fear not, the PSN download comes with the frequency listed on two pages of the "Software Manual."

On the bottom of Page 35, the frequency is listed plainly
and the bottom of page 62 shows the infamous "Back of the CD Case" image, which contains her codec number as well.
Crisis averted!
