Starting Out with the PSP

Post by Overload »

I saw an ad on craigslist for 4 psps. Two working (one of which needs a new screen), two broken, games, movies, extra batteries and mem cards, cases, etc.

Anyway, I'm wondering what games you'd all recommend. I'd prefer them to be in the $10 and under range as I'm blowing most of my spare cash on this bundle.

I've only really played one: Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together. It's hella long and you can go back through the game's branching paths after you beat it (without making a new game), so maybe it'd be worth the 20 USD it goes for.

This and I only played the demo of it, but MGS Peace Walker sounds great.

There's some good platformers and compilations on the PSP as well, like Gradius, etc. Only problem is I think they're almost impossible to play with that d-pad and joystick...

I enjoy(ed) Dissidia. But it might be a love it or hate it kind of game (FighteRPG). The 1st game should be pretty dang cheap though.

Otherwise, I'd get some kind of Custom Firmware (compatible with your system and firmware) on that baby. I'm still amazed at what that thing is capable of.

My vote would also be for Tactics Ogre though.

I think Crisis Core should be under 20 dollars by now. Hell, those Final Fantasy 1 and 2 are worth playing if you like those type of game.
