Seems good so far. Been watching my wife play. I was kinda neutral on Oblivion, but loved Fallout 3

No, if you hated those 2 games, you wont like Skyrim.

Who knows? I'm interested in Skyrim myself, like I said above I hated those two games but loved New Vegas. Maybe Skyrim could be an exception too.

What's the differences between Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, besides superficialities?

So horses are just as terrible as they were in Oblivion. Sure, they get you where you're going at a faster pace (nice if you don't believe in the fast travel system) but they're too prone to running off and there's no Epona's Song to summon them to you. But so far I'm enjoying things. Smithing is pretty nice; I've already got a full Dwarven Set from purchasing ingots off of the merchants.

My skyrim so far:

Race: Nord
Skill focuses: Heavy Armor, 2-handed weaponry, with minor focus in Smithing, enchantment, and archery. No magic.
Dragons slain: 1 (they've been avoiding me, I swear. I only ever ran into the one freebie dictated by plot)
Dragonshout words- 4
Became a werewolf.
Funniest moment- attacked by bandit, said bandit got inside threat range of mammoth, poor guy got gored to death. Never knew what hit him.

I also picked up Morrowind,I remember liking that one alot but probably wont play it for sometime...
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

There are some pretty significant differences between Morrowind and Oblivion. Here is a good summery:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morr ... on_Players

Some of the major differences had to do with level scaling and combat. In Morrowind, your sword swipes and magic attacks could actually fail. This made it very difficult to level up your weakest skills. If you only had a 5 in archery, its almost impossible to hit anything and level up the skill using traditional methods. No level scaling made the game more difficult, but more realistic in my opinion. A cave for example might have lvl 20 enemies, and if you were a lvl 2, you basically can't enter it since you will die immediately. In Oblivion, all enemy levels are adjusted to your level.

So far, Oblivion and Skyrim appear to be pretty similar. Skyrim simplified a lot of the leveling process though.

Looks like I'll be staying with Morrowind then. Thanks!
