It's funny, this is the exact argument I see from people convincing me that their religion is correct.

When I say the "truth", I am talking about just that. The actual real truth, not what one believes is true.

I can't recall a time I have ever see you put forth facts. Instead you put forth your opinions with a lot of "even the most dimly-witted among you should see this is true". In other words, exactly the same backing that shows that Jesus is the one true way.

so you just mean your beliefs then? Those seem to be what you call 'the truth' regardless of silly things like facts.

The truth is the truth, regardless of what anyone's beliefs are. This is not something you can argue against.

Personally, I try to base my own beliefs on the truth, but I know it's possible for them to be incorrect.

And where do you get the truth from? Are these experimentally derived facts?

the truth is very ambiguous at times, even in the scientific field. There are also a lot of philosophical arguments that the truth is what we make it to be anyway...

Depends on what we are talking about. On the subject of religion, it is completely fucking obvious well beyond the point of absurdity what the truth is. For most other things, it usually takes some kind of proof, scientific studies, or at least an explanation that makes sense.

If there aren't enough of these to back up something, then I may not be so sure about it. If you have an open mind and are capable of logical thought, you should be able to determine if something is true or not.

Whatever the reality of the situation is, that's what it is. If there is something that we don't know for sure, then we don't know for sure. If there is something we thought we knew but we were actually wrong, then we will admit that we were wrong, and happily change based on the new truth. Hopefully you understand what I'm saying.

My entire way of thinking is based around the quest for truth. I also try to make my decisions based around it. Step back, look at the whole situation and everything/everyone involved, and I'll try my best to make the best decision.

Thank you for proving my point.

For most other things, it usually takes some kind of proof, scientific studies, or at least an explanation that makes sense.

The problem here is that an explanation that makes sense can be extremely far from the truth. For example, if she weighs the same as a duck she's made of wood, and therefore a witch.

If there aren't enough of these to back up something, then I may not be so sure about it. If you have an open mind and are capable of logical thought, you should be able to determine if something is true or not.

Logic is based around starting from the correct postulates. You frequently start from incorrect ones, which drive you down the wrong path. And I've never seen you NOT sure about something.

Here is a truth for you. You are an arrogant person and many people don't like you very much because of your abrasive attitude.

So much for this thread. Another one ruined.

:x Can't find my popcorn gif. Also I can't find a single fuck to give about anything that has said in the last few pages. I mean none of this cod stuff is preventing me from playing any of my games is it? No, then I guess it really doesn't effect me then so I don't really see an issue.

So long story short I'm going to play dark souls.

Agree, can this post get back on Topic! Maybe start a new Thread and perhaps a Mod could move the last couple of pages?

Exactly. You can't argue against "the truth is the truth", so you have to attack me personally. Don't worry. Your comments won't upset me unless they are true.

Anyway, I'm done here. Let's get back to talking about how evil Gamestop is.
