hehe, yeah. I am glad I quit Eve Online. Gone your private life :D
I'm speaking of experience as well. ;) Played Final Fantasy XI for 4 years.
Biggest waste of time of my life.

Was my first and last MMO, ever.

So I am pretty amazed people who have already played an MMO want to move over to another one.
Whats the meaning with quitting FFXI to start WoW?
It's like quitting cokain and start heroin.

Perfect post. I need you to talk to a couple friends of mine. They won't listen to me. They've been playing FFXI for at least 4 years. MMORPGs are terrible by default, but FFXI is truly bottom of the barrel. They always claim that we cant get together today because of some other important task, but most of the time it's just a cover, and they're really just at home playing this fucking awful game.

You can. I've never really had ping trouble in GW. I definitely had some in WoW and many other MMORPGs. In GW, each town has "channels" you can join, including USA and Europe channels. You can easily teleport to a USA channel when you need to.

They turn your friends into zombies, it's sad. You have to log so many hours to even make your character decent it takes all your time and consumes your mind. I'm mostly speaking about WOW, but FF was bad too. Lost a couple friends to WOW.

You're like, "Hey man, lets go see a movie or get some Thai food."

They're like, "Ohh...uhh...gee...let me check and see if my guild has a raid planned."

I'm not bitter....

I know exactly what that's like. MMORPGs seem to fuck a person's priorities up so bad. They completely forget the value of so many real world features.

Free mmorpg's tend to be total crap.
No support, big downtimes, etc...

Best mmorpg is Sqaure's FFXI (but yes, that one you have to pay)
Owner of: White Saturn, Black Saturn, Regulation 7 Dreamcast, White Dremcast, Purple GameCube, Resident Evil 4 GameCube, Super Nintendo, Wii, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PSP, Black XBOX, Crystal XBOX, XBOX 360, GameBoy.
