the main bar has a darker shade, perhaps it would look better?

It's now 5-4, in favor of the black. There's still a few people that have posted in this thread that haven't answered yet though.

That idea is on one of the pages in this thread. I suggested that early on, but some one said it would be better to keep them all looking the same. And I agree, it would give it a nice touch. But you're right, there's no reason why I can't do one of each (if I get to make two games). I could even check to see which people were hoping for SoM2 and which wanted Terranigma, and I could cross reference that with what those people said about solid black or checkered labels.

I can see why people say that, but on a practical level, unless one person intends to purchase every repro you make this year, its not going to matter.

But maybe my opinion is skewed there. For instance, I don't understand people who change out the covers of their games to make every single one have the same appearance, even if they didn't look that way when originally released. I'm not a guy who needs consistency.

That's my stance either way though. These are already going to be unique pieces, and that's one of the things that makes them so awesome. I don't think a little distinction between them will hurt.

In the end though Ziggy, you're the one who's doing all of the hard work. I ultimately think you should do what you think is best.

For what its worth, you could make a pink cart with purple polka dots and I'd still bid on it.

Is the cart going to be the standard gray? Or will it be painted something else?

Blue and black is the current plan.

Blue with black grooves was the plan, but I'm also running out of time. They might end up just regular old grey.

I think most of the people that posted in this thread said they would like the blue cart with black grooves.

@ EVERYBODY: Tell me which you prefer, regular grey cart, or blue with black grooves?

And also, here's the current vote for the labels:

Pro checkered/tiled/grid line background:
Hobie
Vlame
BoringSupreez
RyaNtheSlayA

Pro solid black background:
Seven

Looks like the solid black label is in the lead. Still a few people that haven't voted yet though.

I prefer the solid black label myself, and the thought of a black cart with blue grooves sounds awesome.

Regarding the cart, I vote for my original suggestion of blue front, black back. At least it'd be easier to paint.

However, I'll stop being an ass and choose between the two stated  : blue with black grooves.
