Together Retro: Shining Force
Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
There's a lot of them too. I had never heard about the Game Gear games before. There's 3 of those, 2 on the Genesis plus SFCD, and SFIII on the Saturn has 3 scenarios. Unfortunately two of those require translation patches.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Only 1 game gear game is in english. The sf2 prequel has a translation patch. The sega cd version has 2 of the gamegear games plus a 3rd scenario that combines the 2 story arcs and is the definitive way to play those. It is like 3 SF games in 1.Hatta wrote:There's a lot of them too. I had never heard about the Game Gear games before. Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Made it to chapter 2 finally, lot slower than you guys haha.
I just have to ask so I don't get all OCD on this game, but is there ever any items in barrels or anything like that? I keep searching tons of things, but yeah. If not that'll save me some time, lol...

I really don't remember there being any. There are a couple hidden chests in chapter 3. One near where you get Zylo and another on the bridge battle with the secret weapon.Xeogred wrote:Made it to chapter 2 finally, lot slower than you guys haha.

I'll try to remember that then and just stop searching barrels and boxes, haha.
And you guys were right, I don't know what happened (well I think giving him a Middle Sword over a Short Sword helped), but Luke was wiping the floor clean in that final battle in chapter 1. Dealing out like ~11 damage a hit, heh. Ken has absolutely insane HP right now too already, in the 20's. He's doing awesome.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Yeah, Ken stays strong until maybe the early-mid game, then others start passing him in stats. My only centaur I am using now is Arthur (I believe you get him in chapter 2). He gets magic spells later on.Xeogred wrote:I'll try to remember that then and just stop searching barrels and boxes, haha.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
I haven't really felt compelled to play since Saturday, I got a bit burned out playing it from a few marathon sittings (3 hours each).
I'll probably pick it up again this weekend.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
I think I may re-start my game on PS3 now... the audio is so garbled on DC, and I figure I'll get some sort of trophy for beating it on PS3. I figure it shouldn't be that arduous since I've only been playing a bit over a week and I'm already at Chapter 4. I should be able to breeze through to here again pretty quickly.
Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
So not to derail this any bit or anything, but what game in the series would you guys say is your favorite?
