Dragon Warrior (NES)

Pretty fun so far. Seems like there is a lot of grinding to get anywhere, but at least the grinding is fun.

Nothing. Just finished Dark Souls so I'm going to cool off before Skyrim.

Went to continue my Illusion of gaia playthrough today, as I was 4 hours in. Turned the game on, and found all the save files missing.

Try saving a new file, turning it off, and letting it sit for several hours. If that save isn't there then it's time to replace the battery.

yeah, this works sometimes. I had a Breath of Fire cart that had this problem, and I restarted my game 3 times. After taking a break and coming back, I found all 3 of my files in tact.

it still weirds me out, because I would always start the new game in File 1, but when I got my saves back, they took up all 3 Save Files

Figured it out. Apparently this morning my Illusion of Gaia cart was resting in the cartridge slot but not in it, so if you turn the system on when it just resting on top of it next to but not in the slot, it wipes your saves. So thats fun.

The moral here, I suppose, is that I am a dumbass.

That kind of sounds like another issue that happens sometimes too, if you turn the system on and off quickly with a cartridge in, that can sometimes clear out an aged cart's saves.

Always a terrible feeling no matter how it happens, lol.
