Can Amazon giftcards be used to purchased used items?

Why not get an Amazon Visa then? It won't cost you any fees.

There's no fee if you do that (as opposed to cash) and you can get all kinds of used games off Amazon.com so it's pretty sweet.
Nice call - I'll have to do this as well.

Amazon can be a killer for shipping if you are buying multiple items - but if you're strategic you can make out well.

I'm with Popo. I've been a prime member since '05. Totally worth it.

Oh yeah, I forgot that there's more to a Prime membership now, like a lot of the Video on Demand stuff is free for Prime members.

Popo, does the two day timeframe count for rural deliveries?

As far as I know it does. It uses the UPS/Fedex guarenteed 2 day shipping speed. You just pay the $90 up front instead of paying the rates listed here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/ ... 68636#2day

And it's $3.99/item shipping for next day delivery.

Because it's my debit card, so I'm using it anyway (I don't usually carry cash). I actually have an Amazon Visa, and it sucks. The interest rate is like a million percent, and it takes way too long to rack up points to redeem anything. I use my debit card all the time, including paying some bills.

Interest rate? Who pays that? It's 3 points on Amazon, 2 points on food, 1 point on everything else (not sure about the specifics of the 2 point), and it's 100 points to the dollar of redeemable stuff.

I have never paid any credit card interest because I pay my balance in full every month. Why can't you do the same?

100 points = $1, big deal. I charged a total of about $800 on my Amazon card, when I was using it, mostly 1 point dollars, but a few 2 and 3 point dollars as well. I have a whopping 1,200 points to show for it. $12? My Chase Leisure Rewards card would get me $25 every few months. So it costs $20/year... but you guys were just talking about Amazon Prime and that $90/year. If it pays in the end, then what's the problem? I'm using my debit card anyway, like I said, since I don't carry cash. I'm not charging everything. I rack up way more points, I end up getting much more Amazon bucks with my Leisure card versus the Amazon card. And I don't have to worry about a balance.

I was living large! But then I got a letter in the mail from Chase saying something that Obama made a new law and now I can't get points on my Leisure card anymore. It was suppose to be effective in August, but I swear I was still getting points some time after that. I haven't checked my points balance recently.
