I think the plain black is more aesthetically pleasing, but I love how unique the checker looks...

Solid. This is the SNES not the Genesis.

Having checkered background on the SNES cart is like having the Genesis pump out good game tunes. Just cant be done! 8)

Indeed, I saved the Racket background, made it larger, darkened the grid, and shipped it to Ziggy to add in.

I see I'm still up in the air. :lol:

I do like the checkered look, but I still put my vote towards solid black.

Although I should say, if you happen to make more than one repro, there's no reason not to use both styles. There's no argument for consistency because these carts will be unique anyway.

Just my thought.
