So several of my friends that run conventions in Georgia have asked to borrow my Saturn Bomberman setup. I would rather not let them trash my controllers, so I thought about buying a lot of Eclipse pads off of ebay - 12 for $40 new. This is only a stop gap until I can build a set of Eclipse pads into arcade controllers (sometime in the next few years). The issue is, that I have never used an Eclipse pad.
So for those who have used them, are they any good? These would be used for Saturn Bomberman only. No other titles. And only a few times a year.
Saturn Eclipse pad any good?

Thanks fellas. All I needed to know.
As for fighters, that is why I have 2 virtua sticks and lots of model 2 controllers

I've used the Saturn Eclipse Pad for hundreds of hours. The d-pad is not as good as the Japanese Saturn d-pad, but overall it is a very decent controller.

It's cool to see you're getting good use out of your Bomberman setup. Do you have one or two multitaps now?
I have the Genesis version of that pad. It's actually very nice and I've used it with SFII:CE quite a bit. I recommend it as a decent alternative to the model 2 Saturn pad.

I liked this pad better when I first got my Saturn as a kid.

Three... two Sega branded and one Bomberman. If I can get another Bomberman tap for cheap, I will keep those and sell off the Sega branded ones.Breetai wrote:It's cool to see you're getting good use out of your Bomberman setup. Do you have one or two multitaps now?

Be sure to let me know when that happens.fastbilly1 wrote:Three... two Sega branded and one Bomberman. Anyways, I could only imagine how awesome it would be to do a 10 player public Saturn Bomberman session. It gets pretty heated among friends when we decide to do 4 player Bomberman Online on the DC.

10 player is awesome. We havent done it recently, due to several deaths, but, aslong as everyone is friendly, it never gets too heated. Theres lots of hooting and hollering, but when Bomera comes out the first time on a new set of players, it is so worth it just seeing their faces. And then the cussing starts.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Be sure to let me know when that happens.fastbilly1 wrote:Three... two Sega branded and one Bomberman. Ive been itching to make a new arcade cabinet, and my friends really want me to make a Saturn Bomberman cocktail with the tv straight up in the middle and having a separate feed out so we can have people bet on the matches. As cool as it sounds, I dont think it is possible. Ten stick and four button layouts is alot of space per player.
