100 PC Engine games in 10 minutes, yay! Somebody needed to make this video. Thanks to those on the forum here for their input.
100 PC Engine games in 10 minutes video!
Re: 100 PC Engine games in 10 minutes video!
Great video!
It added a few more games to the list of PCE games I'm interested in too.
Of course, that can still lead to disappointment. I looked up Faussete Amour on ebay, and the cheapest copy was 100 bucks. Ouch.

Re: 100 PC Engine games in 10 minutes video!
Thanks! I pooled my PCE games collection together with three of my friends to make this video, and had to subtract all the games that had official releases in the USA. Invariably, these videos of mine will get some numbskull who just doesn't get the point of the video, so I'm sure I'll get somebody commenting like, "Uh, HELLO? Snatcher was released on the Sega CD! DUHRRR!" or "RUHRRRR, Street Fighter II was released on several other consoles, DUMMY!" The point is just to show what we didn't get on the Turbografx in the USA.
The video quality turned out much better than my 100 Super Famicom games in 10 minutes video, since I'm now more comfortable with the capture software and the various types of WMV videos it can produce. I'm rather glad at how clear it turned out, almost as good as if I had used a computer emulator or something.
The majority of the games in this video are great. The one real turd from my collection is the first Ranma 1/2 game (the platformer one). In the clip (at 7:35) you can see the terrible hit detection and the jumping in the game. It's nearly unplayable and I have never gotten past the first level. Not that I really try often, but whatevs.
Fausette Amour is definitely a good game. There are a lot of detractors, but after talking with the guy who made this video on YT, I decided it was worth getting it someday. OK, so it gets compared to other famous platformers, such as Akumajou/Castlevania or especially Ghouls and Ghosts/Dai Makai Mura because the girl has the same armor system that Arthur does. Get hit, and she's in a body suit. Get hit again, and she falls down nude. Perhaps it's this unique allure to the game that drives up its price, but I've found that several other Naxat games tend to go way high in price: Spriggan (great shmup, not too high of a price) Sylphia (not that spectacular of a shmup) and Kaze Kiri (the awesome ninja game also in the video). The latter two are maybe rare or something, along with Fausette Amour? Anyway, the gameplay in Fausette Amour is unique and cool, but it's not as polished and refined as the other platformer games it is invariably compared to.

Very cool video. Lots of good PC Engine games I didn't know about in there.
