I've been gaming a long time. Back in the Genesis/SNES days the games were regularly $30-$40. MSRP is complete shit for trying to figure out the worth of an item. "Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price", You can make anything and suggest its worth a lot more, just ask the portablizers.

Air Zonk rocks and does have some nice graphics for sure.
Air Zonk is an amazing game, but I was under the impression that although the GPU was 16 bits, the Primary CPU was 8 bits.

Yes.
Breetai wrote: If we are talking bits, the main processor in the PS3 is primarily 32-bit. The Intellivision is 16-bit. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
True enough. The CPU clock speed is way more powerful on the ps3 meaning it can process a lot more MIPS. It was kind of a superfluous argument back in those days anyways. I still play a lot of my old school systems and I think that a lot of the games are still fun to play. Most of those games were amazing for the time, but then you always had to have that one who said, "yeah, buts only an x bit..."

Just a thought on Modern Warfare 3.

I was at my local game store (Game Champ in Brooklyn) who also sell retro games (picked up Onimusha for $2 and Morrowind for $4). I walked by late tonight and noticed it was still open and there was a huge line - what else but a line for MW3. I looked intently at every single person in that line - probably about 40 in all? - and I swear not a single one looked older than 15, with most looking from 12 to 14 and a few even younger. Just thought you should keep that in mind.

I preordered Skyrim a while back- I'll probably be playing that this weekend. I'll borrow Skyward Sword from a friend since I don't own a Wii, and my roommate's been in love with Sonic Generations. I'll probably pass on it though.

Honestly, my biggest excitement this month? Minecraft leaving Beta next week.

This thread makes me so disappointed...
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Shouldn't their parents be there with them to buy it? Or does the store not care about selling M-rated games to minors?

More the fact that most people are like "Hurr durr Call of Duty sucks, blah blah Skyrim, get X game I like instead."

:/

Me too. I was more hoping it would be more productive since I asked, "What are you going to get?" not "Do these games suck?"
