Re: Veteran's Day Discounts
Oh neat. I only ever notice veteran's day discounts after the fact. I might have to take advantage of one or two of these. That Outback one sounds particularly nifty. I could go for a Bloomin onion and a cold one.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Veteran's Day Discounts
Also, the Lowe's 10% off almost always applies 365 days a year in most locations I've been to. I can't remember the last time I was refused, and I go to Lowes a lot.
I usually just say, "Oh, I'm military," and then flash my ID.

Re: Veteran's Day Discounts
The problem you get when you're a vet but not a retired vet is the lack of an ID. No one really carries their DD214 with them, you know?

Re: Veteran's Day Discounts
This is curious. I wonder if PSD would issue a card to show proof of prior Military service for non retirees. Worth looking into, maybe your local VFW might know of an I.D.?Flake wrote:The problem you get when you're a vet but not a retired vet is the lack of an ID. It's just one day a year that you have to dig it out.Flake wrote:The problem you get when you're a vet but not a retired vet is the lack of an ID. No one really carries their DD214 with them, you know?

Yeah but it's the remembering part that always gets me.
In an related segue, I honestly didn't realize there were so many of us vets here.
