I generally don't go out for Black Friday. I have a couple of times, once just to help a buddy who wanted a big tv but needed my truck to carry it.

I never go rushing in for deals on major electronics though. And the only time I went early enough to stand in line was to help that friend mentioned above (I swear to god it was a stampede. I thought the escalators at Sears were going to fall apart and kill a bunch of people). If I go out at all, I usually just check if there are any good deals on games or movies, then I'm done.

I definitely feel bad for the people working retail on that day though. Retails sucks as it is, so getting swarmed by a bunch of maniacs frothing at the mouth for 12 hours straight must be a nightmare.

Edit:

I felt like mentioning that last year I spent Black Friday taking my dog to get neutered. Poor guy.

That's pretty much all I look for. Though on occasion I have been known to pop into a store to pick up a new sweater...you know...while I'm out.

I prefer to shop online during this time. I have no desire to get up early for a morning trampling just so I can get my eyes scratched out over the last $30 i-pod.

I'm usually hung over and bloated on Black Friday. So I have never participated in any 5AM door busters.

Amazon's Black Friday is more my speed.

Plasma HDTVs be damned. I won't participate in that bullshit. Having to get up at 4 fucking AM in the morning is insane enough. I sure as hell don't want to be surrounded by the human stampede/death orgy/shit party madness.

I have been purposely not buying things such as clothes and certain video games, so I can buy them later with cyber Monday sales.

Actually, a lot of stores are starting at Midnight this year, not 4am >_<

I've seen plenty of people out in that mess in their pajamas at 4am

Definitely not for me. I love my internet shopping too much to go deal with the masses on a crazy shopping day. Plus, I don't tend to wait for sales on the things I want, which leaves the things I'm not terribly interested in but would purchase for a dirt cheap price. So those aren't worth any real effort on my part (but you better believe I snap up stuff on the Steam sales).

Man, you guys are no fun. Watching the crowds are half the fun! :P

A couple years ago, my Grandma and I saw a fight nearly break out in front of an Iowa Menard's before the doors opened. Honestly, I have no idea what they could have possibly needed so badly. I mean, it's Menard's. Seriously.
