I had this game way back when I had my Windows 3.1 system but it obviously ran on DOS and more than likely predated the Win OS. It was old enough to use a stack of 5 1/4 floppy disks and had something comparable to 8-bit graphics.
It was a platformer/side scroller. The game was based around vampires or other related monsters. I remember the first level you would start in a castle (or just a mansion whatever) and move to the left and then you find yourself outside.
I've been checking the usual sites but I can't find ANYTHING like it. I would love to get this game again and try and play it via DOS Box.
Knowing my luck I had a super rare DOS game and once I passed that computer off to someone else in the family I lost a gem.
I wish I could provide more information but I think I've tapped my memory banks from back then. I'm just glad I could find ElfLand (which I also had on that machine).

Dangerous Dave 2 or 3? Monster Bash? Closest I can think of.

Definitely not Monster Bash
Dangerous Dave 2 is the closest I've seen so far but that isn't it either. I'm fairly certain you don't play as a human nor shoot anything with a gun of any sort. Graphics are also just a little too good.
Thanks though, I'll probably download Dangerous Dave anyway.
EDIT:
FOUND IT! By pure luck
