Re: how much is the nes top loader with AV worth?
I think its generally in the 80-90 range, it may have changed since I last looked it up though.
Current systems: Atari 2600[x2], NES(top loader), SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, PS2 slim, xbox, xbox 360, Turbografx-16, Game Boy Pocket, Game boy SP[x2], Nintendo DS[x2], Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo MVS.

Those were NEVER sold with AV included. If your local game store has one, it was either modded or the mother board has been replaced after it was sent in to Nintendo for repairs.ninjainspandex wrote:im talking the one that actually had AV not the one with just RF. my local game store has wone for $99 i know they are really rare should i buy or pass?
You will probably never see another NES2 with AV in person again, unless you buy one online or mod it yourself. Why not see if you can find any with AV online and compare prices (also factor in shipping). $100 might be very reasonable.

Yeah the RF versions usually go for around $80.
If the AV is not an obvious home mod you may have a decently rare console at that store. The AV was only ever put it in by Nintendo when people sent the system in for repair complaining about bad picture quality.

update the toploader was sold before i got back to the store guess we will never know... but on the other hand i finally got the urge to replace the 72 pin connector on my nes so guess i dont even need it now. why are the top loaders so expensive if they just have RF i dont see the point

Re: how much is the nes top loader with AV worth?
Because
A) That pin connector will get stretched out, causing the same problem you had with your old one, and
B) They seem much easier to import for.
I would also guess that a lot less of the toploaders were produced than the frontloaders.
Also, modding AV into the toploaders doesn't seem too difficult, and once thats done, the toploader is strictly better.
But I can't afford one either, so I just replaced my pin connector too
