Black Friday 2011

Post by Weekend_Warrior »

Well... It's that time of the year again. It's time to drink egg nog, be merry, AND TRAMPLE SOMEONE TO DEATH OVER A TV!!!

What sort of video game, tv, and/or computer deals is everyone looking for this year?

Myself, I still need a PS3. So I'd really like to see a $50 off sale on the 320 GB w/Move bundle. I know it just came down in price a few months ago. But if one of the retail stores were to list this as a "door buster," then I just might have to wait in line and beat someone up for that one.

I'm also in the market for an HDTV and a laptop. So if I could find a bargain deal on one of those that would be helpful.
"Welcome to the circus of values!"

Currently Playing: Crysis (360), Destiny demo (PS3), Roadblasters (MAME)

Probably no game purchases for me that day, that's the time to do Christmas shopping for everyone else. My family needs to stop growing, I am buying gifts for 11 people this year.

Previous Day: TV Price $2000.

Black Friday: TV Price $2600. Marked down to $2000.

Worth trampling on someone?: YES.

All jokes aside, I do everything online. Maybe there'll be some good deals going on.

I posted last year about how much I REALLY REALLY hate Black Friday and wish it would be illegal: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 61#p336861

I won't retread that whole thing here (most of it was an argument with Luke), but suffice to say it represents the absolute worst of our consumer culture. If you do decide to take part in this sad spectacle at a brick and mortar retailer, please be careful.

I work retail and we all have to work black friday, which means we miss out on all the big deals anyway.

I'm looking to get myself a new laptop. My current one is annoying me because the battery doesn't hold a charge and wiggling the power connector at the computer end causes to switch off A/C power thereby causing the low power warning.

Once I get the new laptop, I'll have to open the old laptop up to see if the power connector is loose and needs to be soldered in. It's also annoying that I can't disconnect the cord from the computer or it's very difficult to get back in (connector is bent slightly).

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. I'll peruse the ads the night before since my wife and other family members will go out on Friday. I don't think anything will top Target's recent deal.

Black Friday has alright deals if your the first person to arrive, most of the door deals are limited to 1-3 per item.Which sell very quickly thus not making Black Friday anything special unless your lucky and crazy...I likes me some internet shopping anyways
