Misfits (UK show)

Post by indecks »

Did a quick search, found the Metalheads Assemble thread, but nothing about this show.

Anyone a fan? I love the show. It's a fun drama-comedy, and is what Heroes was desperately trying to accomplish. I liked season 1 of heroes but it went to shit quick.

Regardless

I guess the new season (or as you crazy Brits call it 'series') started yesterday, or sometime this week. I loved the first 2 seasons, but it turns out one of the main actors, Robert Sheehan has left the show. The showrunners gave the fans a small 12 minute short showing what happened to his character, and replaced him with a new character named Rudy.

Rudy was ok at best. I don't know how the show's gonna continue. It's kinda-sorta like the US version of The Office. It's still going, without Steve Carell, which is... weird.

Anyway, thoughts?

I thought Rudy was a fine substitute, though I really wish Nathan could've stayed. In any case, they provided a good and funny justification for his absence, so I don't care.

I love Misfits. I love how they don't mind appearing goofy. Because when you're dealing with superpowers, you're going to end up appearing goofy. You might as well enjoy doing so.

I have tbh, while I am maybe going to consider watching it, at first glance I was proper annoyed, because i have a #misfits (meaning the music group) tumblr search tag saved on my tumblr, and it's bad enough that I have to sift through lots of 'new' Misfits crap, but now there's also that program all over it :p

I will watch it someday though :D

yes I believe Glenn and Doyle are at the moment touring and playing 'all 3' (i.e. Misfits, Samhain, Danzig) - not coming to Ireland I don't think though :(

Yeah it's a great show, man. I hear they're making an American version of the show.

Yikes.

Why do my countrymen always have to screw things up. Did you ever see the US pilot for The IT Crowd? Wow.

There is a U.S. pilot for The IT Crowd?

Just the thought makes me cringe.

I had never heard of Misfits but I will check it out. Thanks to Netflix and Hulu I have been watching a lot of British shows. Peep Show is becoming one of my favorite series ever.
